What happened in Uganda

We could have told this story from the typical, American perspective. We could have had a narrator explain to the viewer what the pictures from Uganda meant. We could have — it would have been easier. small photo

But it would not have been true to the story of how this African country, without outside help and still recovering from a long and bloody civil war, began winning the battle against AIDS, a disease devastating Sub-Saharan Africa. This video employs the voices of Ugandans themselves, from the First Lady of Uganda to medical personnel to Ugandan students, to tell the story. It's been called groundbreaking in this country, and culturally sensitive and inspiring in Africa. Tens of thousands of copies have been distributed worldwide. It's aired on African television. It's made a difference.
